My 3-year-old and Some Autumn Leaves

My daughter turned 3 years old today.  We had fun taking some pictures the other day while we enjoyed our beautiful autumn weather.

Pony Rides

(I'll post some sneak previews of my latest sessions soon, I promise.)

Lake Powell -- The View

We did a bit of canyon hopping, a lot of skiing/wakeboarding, and lounged on the beach during our vacation.  One morning I got up way too early for sane people, so I could capture a Lake Powell Sunrise.  I also tried my hand at some HDR images (the final 3 sunrise shots).  What do you think?

Lake Powell -- The People

We spent a few days at Lake Powell with my husband's family last month.  So I'm doing two installments -- one post to highlight some of the people we had so much fun with, and the other to highlight the scenic beauty. And hey, some pictures do both. :)

Playing with Macro :: Orange County Photographer

My garden has been in full bloom, and just the other day I noticed that the day lillies I transplanted from my mom's garden in Utah last fall are finally beginning to bloom.  So I broke out my macro lens and had a bit of fun today.  I try to make each shoot a learning experience, and I definitely learned to be more careful with my camera settings.  I had my shutter speed set pretty fast, because I was worried about the breeze affecting my shots, but I think it had a negative effect on the quality of the images.  However, I'm still pleased with what I got, and I'll do it better next time.  :)
