Playing with Macro :: Orange County Photographer

My garden has been in full bloom, and just the other day I noticed that the day lillies I transplanted from my mom's garden in Utah last fall are finally beginning to bloom.  So I broke out my macro lens and had a bit of fun today.  I try to make each shoot a learning experience, and I definitely learned to be more careful with my camera settings.  I had my shutter speed set pretty fast, because I was worried about the breeze affecting my shots, but I think it had a negative effect on the quality of the images.  However, I'm still pleased with what I got, and I'll do it better next time.  :)

  1. Whenever I do macro shots I always try to keep my shutter speed higher because like you said wind, and of course my aperture as low as it can go unless you have a tripod in a perfectly controlled environment. I think you did fantastic, these are gorgeous!!! Macro is by far my favorite and you did these complete justice, and oh how I love the detail you captured!!! Love them all!
