Environmental Portrait :: Orange County Portrait Photographer

I'm taking a Portrait Photography class this term, which I'm super excited about.  It's technically a black and white film class, but the professor is allowing me to use digital.  He said that I'm allowed to turn in color work, but I thought I'd take on the challenge of working completely in black and white for this class.  I love color, but I think working in black and white will really help me focus on composition more.

Our first assignment is an Environmental Portrait.  I haven't decided which ones I'm going to turn in (it may not even be one of these), but I wanted to share some of my favorites.  (The pictures of the runners et al are from the Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon which took place on the morning of Jan. 29.)

My friend threw her son an amazing Pirate Birthday Party over the weekend.  There were so many fun things for the kids to do -- digging for buried treasure, rides in the pirate ship, sword fights, fishing for prizes, and so much more!  There was even a special appearance by Captain Hook!
